Eurocamp are a leisure and travel company that specialise in outdoor holidays. Their accommodation ranges from mountain lodges to tree houses and safari tents and they have resorts right across Europe where people can try out all sorts of different activities.
Total customer journey contact
They wanted their customers to have brand contact all the way through the customer lifecycle, an app was perfect because it could be a useful tool, a helpful guide and also somewhere to store all the account and confirmation details of the trip. The app could also operate post booking using carefully selected notifications.
Minimal viable product
Our minimal viable product was to incorporate the and digitise the pre departure booklet that was sent to every customer once that had booked. After that we would work in the more complex ideas around weather related activities and location based adaptive content.
Apps should be useful
The main thing we wanted the app to deliver is a better brand experience and we felt that making it useful was the best way to do that rather than pushing offers etc. We called it the Travel Companion which really suited how the app was with you during the trip, helping customers out at every stage.
Power to organise
One pice of key functionality of the ‘Travel Companion’ was the itinerary planner, this allowed the customer to plan their entire stay which was especially useful if they were touring between different camping resorts, making booking for different activities along the way.
